How I got into concrete
I learned concrete doing upkeep for a property management company, fixing cracked walks, sunken steps and broken driveways between tenants. A lot of what I tore out had failed because another crew rushed the part you can't see, and that's where I learned that a job done twice costs more than one done right the first time.
We started San Gabriel Concrete here in 2021, and we're best known for driveways, patios and steps. Homeowners call us, and so do landlords and property managers who want the work done quick and clean. Houses in San Gabriel sit close together, so I keep the site tidy and the neighbors undisturbed. Mostly I care that what I tell you at the start matches what you end up with. You can see everything else we pour from our home page.

What you can expect from us
The person who prices it runs it
I come out myself to look at your driveway or patio and talk it through, and our crew does the work with me running it. The plan we agreed on at your house is the plan the crew pours, because I'm the one who was standing there with you.
Straight talk about cracks
Concrete shrinks as it cures, so a few small cracks over the years are normal, and I'll tell you that before the pour. We cut control joints, shallow grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, so the lines usually show up where we chose them instead of across the middle.
The base comes before the finish
If the budget gets tight, the base is the last thing I'll cut, because a slab holds up only as well as the subgrade under it, the dug-out and packed ground it sits on. We also check where the water runs so your new slab sheds water away from the house, not toward it.
A written estimate and a clean site
You get a written estimate in plain words, so homeowners and property managers both know what's included before anything gets torn out. When we're done, the forms and debris leave with us and the street gets swept.
Licensed, insured and clear on permits
Serving San Gabriel Since 2021
State contractor license
Fully licensed and insured. In California, the Contractors State License Board requires a license for any job that needs a building permit, uses employee labor or runs $1,000 or more in labor and materials, and San Gabriel requires every contractor working in the city to hold one in good standing.
Permits with the city
When a job needs a permit, it comes from the city's Building & Safety Division at City Hall, and either you as the owner or a licensed contractor can pull it. Before work starts, we settle with you who handles any permit the city asks for and what it needs from us, so your job doesn't stall halfway through.
